I get a lot of Flack for my simple songs. This is me playing in Modes.

It sounds like two chords being repeated and a solo guitar which is, to my ears, swapping between scales. Playing in modes? Again, I don't really see the point in posting just a short segment of a song unless it's intended to inspire a collaboration or something. Just my opinion of course. It sounds like the guitar solo to a really nice song...I'd like to hear the rest of it!!😀

It's a nice groove and the picking over the top is a nice touch. Certainly something there to build from.

I respectfully disagree, but I do understand your point and respect your opinion, Chris. I liked the forum better when it was compartmentalized, but with all due respect to @RainyDayMan, I understand the administrative burden of setting it up like that again, especially when considering the relatively low number of participants here (e.g., big monstrosity v. few participants). The previous forum had sub-forums for lyrics only, for example. Numerous people posted only lyrics there. Notice that in the new forum very few people post only lyrics for feedback. Very few people post developmental ideas for songs or snippets of songs for feedback and suggestions regarding the mix, arrangement vocals, etc. The songwriters forum was previously more about the songwriting process and sharing ideas along the way while developing a song. Today, it seems to have become a "post your final song or full demo" forum now, which I think is unfortunate. It would be nice in the future if there were compartments for lyrics-only, songs in progress, and finished songs/demos. 😀

Excellent jam, Joe! I enjoyed listening and like what you have so far. It definitely merits developing into a full song, and I hope you do so. My only criticism is of the string squeaks when you change chords. Those stand out, but hey, you're a way better guitar player than me! Again, great stuff! I hope you finish it and post a full demo! 😀

Fair comment. I actually much prefer the streamlined look of the forum now. But I can see that it doesn't really cater for work in progress and for lyrics only. So maybe I'm being a bit unfair. I actually really like Joe's ideas, but he does have a track record of posting just short segments of songs for some reason.😀

I do have full leant songs of most of what I have posted. Some in a much better format. Full Studio work ups. Hate to hear you discourage people posting ideas. I'm no longer a fan 😀.

I love the guitar, my husband is a guitarist and that sound has been in my ears and in my tastes for a long time. I liked it a lot! @Autopart101
