"Breakin records and breakin hearts" is a strong start to the chorus. Lots of energy there.
And yes, it really does sound like Rod Stewart, though I'm not sure that's a good thing. Artists should probably have control over where their voice is being used.
Not sure it's a got a killer memorable hook, but it's a very solid pop track.
