Nobody Knows What State She's in

My lyrics into Ai

She left New York many months ago
but nobody knows what state she's in
never left a note or tried to phone
but nobody knows what state she's in

Her folks called missing persons
but nobody knows what state she's in
mighta took a train
hitchhiked through the rain
but nobody knows what state she's in

Yeah, Nobody knows what state she's in
what she was thinking
and when she wasn't
how does someone just disappear?
maybe she eloped,
or the bigger fear
but nobody knows what state she's in

She could be climbing over mountains
but nobody knows what state she's in
a dozen stops and countin
but nobody knows what state she's in

She could be floating in the ether
but nobody knows what state she's in
alive and well or neither
but nobody knows what state she's in

yeah, Nobody knows what state she's in
what she was thinking
and when she wasnt
how does someone just disappear?
maybe she eloped,
or the bigger fear
but nobody knows what state she's in

  • This isn't my favorite of yours.

"nobody knows what state she's in" is clever and cool. I like how you put that directly after the New York line to underline the play on words.

I think the mighta and maybe lines weaken it. It doesn't feel like it's saying anything concrete about her, just guessing. Of course "nobody knows what state she's in" so it fits thematically, and it's hard to write about absence. I don't know if it would work on not but maybe there's a way to put it in the context of those around her: her momma thought she ...., but nobody knows what state she's in.

I think the music is a good fit stylistically, but perhaps needs a bit more variation.

Cool. Think I wrote this when learning about double hooks and entendres, never imagining that one day I might throw it down and give it a go.

Well, the thing is a big question, if anybody knew where she was, then mighta and coulda wouldn't apply.

It speaks to the confusion and empty thoughts people have, when hearing news. They ask alot of vague questions

I think anyway, they stole the sound and vocal from Soundgarden

I've done probably hundred songs using udio, my lyrics. Think if I've got 20-25 really good ones worth working on that's good

Once I start doing covers of my songs I may not use any of them.

If anything it's getting me good at using ai in my stuff
