Just an Outside Chance

if there is an if
that covers what
would come next
given perfect
conditions
if any of this
leads to
some kind of
breakthrough
if what we are
doing
leads to
the same feeling
ten days from now
there may not be
any now
if anything
reminds you
of an end in itself
hold on I’ll be
too wrung out
by then
to even look at it
if you are talking to
yourself ask yourself
if you hear yourself
telling the world
you can answer to
your refusals
that you would
sing the next song
if you knew it
whatever comes next
has come from
a lot of
different directions
if you happen to be
in the way, the line
of fire, if you catch
what feels like
too much lead
just lay out awhile
you’ll recover
we’re built to get up
and suffer

A faster rhythm to this one, and I enjoyed that. And your slide guitar is always enjoyable to hear.
I didn't follow the meaning of the lyric in this one I'm afraid.

I can appreciate the first two comments on the musicality of the song, sounds like you have a good grasp of the blues techniques on the guitar. Not being either a blues or a jazz fan, the vocals always sound hard to me an that tends to colour my opinion. Likewise the use of abstract lyrics has the same effect, I struggle to appreciate the work.
I've listened to and liked a few of the songs you have posted, but in this case, for me it's just outside my comfort zone to give an honest and deserved critique.
Nevertheless, I hope you get many listeners who have a greater liking for the genre and give you a more deserved feedback.
Thanks for posting.

Hola @RCJames here you are, with your notes wrapping your words!!!! Natural sound, like the wind humming a story outside the window.

Very loose and natural sound. I like that. There's a melody there, even though it gets a bit lost sometimes in the delivery. Unusual to have such an abstract lyric in such a bluesy song. Blues is usually a very direct medium.
