I have about 5 versions of this lyric. I favor these two, complete opposite. One makes the singer seem sensitive and honest respect, the other is Rock n roll and closer to how it's written..

Love it! I definitely prefer the first version, which is yours I think.
"a groove so sweet" sums up the first version for me. It just glides effortlessly. The subdued vocal feels just right.
Really this should be on a record somewhere. I was bopping away with it the whole way. Really engaging.

You could have written this for Jarvis Cocker out of Pulp, he would have given this the justice it deserves.
It's an outstanding piece of work that deserves a much greater exposure.
