"No One Cared" Lyric
Hi everyone, if anyone cares to comment on this lyric, any and all comments will be appreciated. Thank you
"No One Cared"
Words By Tom Tognaci
V1
God spoke to Noah—and he understood.
But the people would not listen—
calling him crazy where he stood.
Pre-Chorus 1
Noah warned them of a great flood:
"Help me build this ark of wood—
Help me and have faith that your family will be spared."
As they laughed and spat the ground...
Chorus line 1
...No one cared.
(Spoken word: And we all know how that turned out)
V2
Back in 1912, a champagne bottle broke the bow,
And it was deemed "unsinkable,"
Which raised some uneasy eyebrows.
Pre-Chorus 2
Warnings came of icebergs en route,
Which the crew laughed off as moot.
In their arrogance, the great ship went unprepared,
As the band played its swan song...
Chorus line 2
...No one cared.
(Spoken word: And we all know how that turned out, as well)
V3
There burns a new fire, one from cyberspace
One not passed down from the Heavens
But claims to help the human race
Pre-Chorus 3
Poets warn of a great downfall
Clergy fear what the mystics saw
As the world falls in line, too enlightened to be scared
The signs were all around us...
Chorus line 3
... But no one cared
(Spoken word: And one day, in the not-so-distant future, so many will go unaware with how this all turns out.)

@IronKnee - an issue is with mixing myths with reality. I think keep it to one or the other. there are plenty of real-world examples you can draw from to keep it consistent.
Not sure your assessment about the titanic is accurate. they didn't christen the boat with champagne. the crew had no idea the ship was badly designed. and there were communication issues.
The other thing that stands out are the forced rhymes, like moot.
The last thing is the phrase "one not passed down from the heavens", What has been passed down from the heavens? Besides, if God created man and man created AI, which is what I think you are alluding to, therefore God created AI, and it came from the heavens.

And why does God get a pass for everything, like earthquakes and tsunamis , viruses, illness, and asteroids, but that darned AI was not designed by God!
Earthquakes designed by God have no potential to do anything good but kill. Ai has alot of good potential, and true dangerous things too
I believe in something but I struggle with the above often
Won't debate the concept it can still work as a song , but as mentioned I think there are stretches in the comparisons, and yeah rhyming over content too.
I get the warning and trying to show that ignoring the warnings can have consequences, but I think it needs a better hook to center around.
Better structure, clearer comparison...
But the music might change opinion0 -
@IronKnee Yep. This one sure to stir up controversy. Of which is a good thing. I love the way you started out with a Scriptural reference and a great one at that as there are many related examples in the Bible. So far as V3, Pre-Chorus 3, Hell! The engineers of certain Super AI models are screaming: 'Shut it down before it kills us all' as it takes on more and more of a mind of its' own.
As sovereign above all, God Almighty gave man the ability to build such a monster but He also gives free will of whether or not to build it and for what purpose; good or evil. Of course, the latter is true for the psychopaths behind Super AI.
All in all, I agree with and like your lyric and especially your hook: NO ONE CARED. I believe many care but I also believe they are in the minority in the dumbed-down, psychotropic-feeding world we live in.
So far as the Titanic being sunk (it was sunk on purpose), well, the true story behind that is another story for another song but I like your reference to it as it sells your hook.
May God Almighty show mercy to us all,
Renee 💌

Mankind has already destroyed itself over and over again. Wars dating back tens of thousands of years, civil war, riots, ww1, ww2, Vietnam, nuclear bombs, cyber warfare...
An ai is worse? I think we need to be responsible with it, still make sure we have control over it.
But I recall year 2000, everything was going to be destroyed, y2k ..
Nothing happened. People will still be the ones that kill us...
As well as nature..m

Hi behengen,
First off thanks for reading.
2ndly, The Titanic's launching ceremony took place on May 31, 1911, at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. During the event, the ship was traditionally christened by a prominent sponsor—Lady Helen Diamantstein—who broke a bottle of champagne over the bow to symbolize good luck and safe travels.
3rdly, the crew went along with the assessment that the ship was "unsinkable". The Titanic was often referred to as "unsinkable" by the media and its builders before its maiden voyage. This reputation stemmed from its advanced design and safety features, such as its watertight compartments and double bottom.
4thly, "Moot" is a wonderful rhyme that defines exactly how they received the warnings. Yes, the Titanic received some warnings about icebergs and field ice during its voyage. Several ships ahead of the Titanic, such as the RMS Oceanic and the SS Mount Temple, sent wireless messages warning of ice and icebergs in the area. However, these warnings were not sufficiently emphasized or acted upon by the Titanic's bridge crew. Additionally, the Titanic's wireless operators were busy transmitting passenger messages, which may have contributed to delays in relaying or responding to iceberg warnings. As a result, the ship continued at high speed through areas where icebergs had been reported, ultimately leading to the iceberg collision that caused the sinking.
And Finally, Man created AI. AI is not like fire, or water which God has generously furnished us. I'm sure God will give us a free choice as to how it is used. I already see the problems, however!
So, you see... all is good! 😁

To use your phrase, it's moot at this point, you can't put that genie back in the bottle. So, it's essentially a circular argument.
0 -
Well... I can't please everyone!
And I'll just leave it at that.

God created Fire? How many people has fire killed since
God also furnished us with a planet that's dangerous enough to live on, and has killed millions all by itself, not to mention creating bacteria and viruses that kill
He created the beautiful stars in the sky, but I occasionally they blow up and destroy anything in its path. As well as asteroids that pummel the earth
The song can still work, I don't have to agree with the premise in order for it to be good. And it doesn't have to be factual either
You did ask for reviews
it doesn't look great to me on paper, but music has a habit of being more forgiving.
Good luck with it at any rate0 -
You nailed it. And you are 1 in 3, so far that truly get it, and agree.
Great to hear from you!

Maybe you just hit on something: people will be the ones that kill us, and AI will be our greatest undoing.
But that is another focus for another song with 3 or 4 more verses and a chorus.
I don't believe we've ever conversed on this site?
Take care!

And that is a survival instinct you don't want to ignore.
1 -
you have an itch to scratch and you're trying to bait people into an argument.
1 -
What??
I'm not arguing. What do I have to argue about, the merits of my song? I did do some research, and I took a little liberty. It's a song 😉

I think the talk about ai made him post this . I'll give benefit of doubt it wasn't to start a fight....but timing was impeccable
Lollllll0 -
it is what is it.. it's not going away. I've been in tech all of my life. my dad was a senior systems programmer for the FAA. in the 70's we had personal computer, gaming boxes, cable tv. I've personally been in tech since the 80's. I have a different take on technology. I get 5 different emails on the various uses AI has in our society, from financial to military. billions are being spent on developing new AI tech. You can scream all you want how horrible and dangerous it is. have at it. you're screaming into the wind. at this point, I'm bowing out of the conversation, as it's no longer productive. as I mentioned before it's become a circular argument.
0 -
Man, I said that for years... It's all about the timing!
You guys have been arguing about AI?
Most music sites are.
0 -
I am mostly concerned with what PEOPLE are doing with AI in music.
0 -
But you wrote this without ai0
-
then where is that in your song. it's not. because you intentionally left it open to goad people into pointless arguments. it's what you do and have done. it's why I blocked you before. I'm about to block you again.

Both of you are waayyy off base. The two of you are acting squirrely.
And you can ban me all you like bhengen. You are the kinda guy who makes trouble.
I have a song here... not a declaration for war.
"Pointless arguments"... "Goading"... LOL
I seriously have no idea where you are coming from.
LOL... you guys are too much. 😎
The both of you can ban me...really! You have my permission.

The point of this thread is to help Tom improve the song he wants to write. Not to argue about whether he should be writing it. You always have the option not to comment.
1 -
And I still have no idea where these two were coming from.
Did I just walk into a cat fight?
0 -
Ok, let's all step back from personal comments. Comment on the song folks, not on each other.
0 -
Agreed!
So, what do you think of this lyric, Rainy?
0 -
I think I'd have to hear it to do it justice.
Reading the lyric, it feels a bit disconnected. The Flood, Titanic and AI don't feel like a natural progression. I can see you're linking them via the no one listened phrase, but it feels a little forced.
I think the spoken voice over might be quite effective. It's a bit different, so should get attention, and there's a sense of narration to the lyric that should make it a good fit.
I'm not a fan of "moot" either, but you've already answered that one.
It all reads smoothly, so should fit to music well. Look forward to hearing it!

Funny, it's pretty clear to me. The "No One Cared" theme is smooth and clear... or so I think. Two catastrophic events are highlighted, and it was that because no one cared made the events even worse. My stance is that AI will usher in catastrophes yet to be seen, as the warnings are now being trumpeted. And it is clear, today, that no one cares, mesmerized by all the goooood AI will bring.
And why is "moot" so awkward?
Route (pronounced Root) rhymes wonderfully with "moot"
Moot:
- adjective: of no legal significance (as having been previously decided)
- adjective: open to argument or debate
- Example: "That is a moot question"
0 -
Because moot doesn't sound good and it doesn't flow. it sounds abrupt. it's sounds like a forced rhyme where somebody ran out of ideas and just went with it. You're mixing a real catastrophic event with a myth. There is no evidence that Noah or the Ark existed. So, from a listener's standpoint, the song is already discredited. There are tons of real-world examples of catastrophic events that was ignored by mankind that you can use. Since you brought it up, which catastrophic events ushered in by AI, do you see? I had just read an article, that I need to track down, where AI was used to correctly diagnose a patient where the doctor failed to find anything wrong. How is that a bad thing?

I never imagined you would describe this kind of story, although lately I've been seeing different lights through your cracks..., I enjoyed it but I can't help, you know, my English is pure fantasy. @IronKnee
0 -
Thank you for your insight... But I just don't agree that "moot" sounds forced. Sounds as natural as boot and shoot 😎 And are you calling the Bible's account of Noha and his ark a myth? This is where I disagree with you again.
With regard to AI, I’m seeing people become mesmerized by sites like SUNO, where someone can post anything that barely qualifies as a lyric, and SUNO’s machines generate a melody and production without any real input from the user. It’s also absurd to see someone puff their chest out and claim that song as their own. AI, in this case, is making songwriters lazy, all the while fooling themselves into believing they are the true authors. There is a lot of concern out there concerning AI... concerns much greater than silly songwriting. Maybe, you've heard some of these concerns?
Anyways, that's Ok, B. I get that you don't like this song, and I'm well aware as to why.
But, again, thank you for your concern.
Hi M.... I strive to keep things fresh. Nothing is more boring than to write about the same ole.
And I know you would agree 😉
Thanks for stopping by!
