Queen of Van Houten Avenue

My dad was a big Doo wop fan. Never attempted one before this. I had this lyric sitting around and thought it worked singing it as Doo wop.
It's for you Dad!
Little view in town I grew up in.

There's a spot on the top of clifton
winding down from Valley Road
you can almost see the new york girls dancing
if you havent been you really should go
At night time the city's beneath you
Tell me if you still feel depressed
the powers majestic, you feel so affected
no need to study for this test
If a Wish could ever come true
They'll grant The Queen of Van Houten Avenue
If you make it up there this weekend
I hear the view will be nice and clear
The skyline's electric, you feel so connected
at very least you find a cold beer
but I know for sure if you do
You'll feel like the Queen of Van Houten Avenue
Now, there aint no big sign that points you to it
A ride on the public bus will do it
Ask the driver if he knows the way
he'll probably say no, but that's ok
Just say "go to the top of that hill
keep the change of a twenty dollar bill"
and when the sky fades from blue
Meet the King of Van Houten Avenue

@behengen thanks. I never knew about it until when I went back to visit and went for a walk after eating a huge meal.
It's a gigantic hill that gradually goes lower and lower. New York is still quite a ways and I exaggerated the hell out of it.
It's something I never noticed cause I either rode a bike, moped , or a car .
Glad it makes you wanna see it, my goal is was to see if anyone I grew up with or lives there now ever noticed how beautiful it is
But like the movies, it's bigger as a song than it really is.
Let me know if you go lollllll0 -
@ElvisNash thanks. I can write something next that will really confuse you lol0

That works really well as a doo wop! Did you write the lyric with that in mind, or just apply the styling afterwards? Either way it's a success!
I like the kind of detail you have in the lyric that paints a really clear picture, and tells me about something I don't know.
Enjoyed this a lot.
BTW, helpful if you can include who wrote the lyrics / music and whether it's an AI generated recording.

Thanks. I wrote the lyrics, I originally had it as ,6/8 swing feel, think unchained melody
I thought it was clear I was using ai to trigger arrangements.
Once I thought I needed a doo wop song for my collection I knew the flow of lyrics worked, but it took a long time to find something close.
I think you can hear earth angel and the great pretender in it.
My dad was a fan, so I wanted to do it
Thanks for nice comments0
