Living together;apart

Living together; apart
[verse]
We used to go out to parties.
Dance and have a good time.
Some nights we would watch a movie.
Share a bottle of wine.
[guitar solo]
[verse]
You used to come home with roses.
for no reason at all.
If you had to go out of town;
You never failed to call.
[pre chorus]
Now you don’t bring me roses.
We haven’t kissed in a year.
I watch the cooking channel.
You watch football and drink beer.
[verse]
I used to bake you fresh brownies.
we’d kiss when you came home.
You’d flirt with me in the kitchen.
Hardly leave me alone.
[pre chorus]
It’s more like we’re just roommates.
I’m not sure we’re even friends.
We sleep in separate beds.
We’re far too broken to mend.
[chorus]
We’re living together, living together;
living together; apart.
We’re living together, living together;
living together; apart.

    Excellent song Carroll, I'm sure a lot of readers may relate to this.

    Thanks Sid. Not posting much anymore. Haven’t added to sound cloud either. Seems pointless.

    You're welcome Carroll, totally understand your feelings. People are so self-centric these days, social media encourages them to take and focus on themselves rather than give to others. As to pointless, I also agree with that view, if someone with your talent isn't being noticed, then there is no point, again smacks of too much of the "me" society we have spawned and actively promote.

  • @carroll - not really pointless, it's a hobby that keeps your mind and creativity flowing. I know I'm most likely not going to sell anything, if at all, but I enjoy the creative process. I would keep writing. :)

    Been in that situation , but thankfully not for a long period. Very uncomfortable.

  • I like your choice of music for this - not too heavy. It's a sad situation but the lyric isn't overly emotional, so a good match.

    "I’m not sure we’re even friends" -ouch! That one's heavy!
