New original song "Brand new day" - recorded with new microphone!

I just got the new microphone and put some compression on this brand new track titled "Brand new day". What do you think? Is it harsh like before or is so much better?

Lyrics:
Where's my head?
I'm layin' in bed
I think I'm gonna make it
It's going to be better
It's going to be a brand new day
Look at all my worthless songs
I could never get along
It's gonna be better
It's gonna be a brand new day
Why do I always feel so bad
Why does it make me so sad
t's going to be better
It's going to be a brand new day
Where's my head?
I'm layin' in bed
I think I'm gonna make it
It's going to be better
It's going to be a brand new day
Look at all my worthless songs
I could never get along
It's gonna be better
It's gonna be a brand new day
Why do I always feel so bad
Why does it make me so sad
t's going to be better
It's going to be a brand new day

Noticeably better Rob! Much cleaner, no fuzz and I can hear both the guitar and your vocals more clearly.
Like the way you're bringing a second guitar in and out of the mix, and the 2nd vocal repeating "better" with the hard panning.
And the guitar solo is good - always a strength of yours!
You might try for some lyrical variation in the latter verses, keep the listener on their toes!
Good stuff.

Thanks. This song was really a test for sound quality. I'm almost read to record some complete songs, both musically and lyrically, and with no more hiss!

that's a lot better , You need a screen for your mike to get rid of pops
lyrically your just repeating lines , I would move story along

Yes, it's much easier on the ears. I agree with Elvis about the pops, but that's an easy fix. In the absence of a pop screen you could just stand a little bit further back from the mic...not too far though.
Now you need a drummer and a bass player. You could form a really powerful rock trio.
Meanwhile keep em comin' This is your best one so far imho.😀

Thanks for listening and letting me know how it sounds. I could, and maybe should, develop it.

Definitely easier to make out the lyrics here. I agree with everything the others have said here. Do you play bass? That would be a good addition.0

I could play bass but I don't think I have the ability, nor do I want to learn, to play bass lines that would compliment it. I would just play to the root of the chord. It would be great to have bass and drums on these songs though. If anyone wants to try it go ahead and let me know.

Thanks. That's a very good resource. Although find the right players that compliment your music well could be very difficult.

They're pros , I've used them several times , They can handle you

if it's just a case of adding bass and drums, Band In A Box might work for you. It could lay down those tracks and you play over them.

Nah, I like humans. Some of them, anyway. Band In A Box is fun though. Like having a band who never need to stop for bathroom breaks or turn up late because they got smashed the night before. But your video has convinced me that what Rob needs is some of them there robots LOL.

ha ha ha , more robots please
