Myson
[verse 1]
Let me tell you a story
About a little boy
Who I conceived when
I was twenty-one
[verse 2]
He grew up in Springhill Apartments on Ray Bon
He was the only child but I had fun
Watching him do back flips in the swimming pool
Playing at McArthur’s park after school
He was a daredevil
No matter the when
Where, why, or weather
He was always down for whatever
[pre-chorus]
My reason to live and beacon of light
Who kept me awake many nights
In the books studying hard for a prosperous life
He asked how I did what I have done
Listen carefully, this is how it all begun
[Chorus]
The love for you, Myson
Led me to do extraordinary things
You breathed air into me
Resuscitated my tired exhausted feet
You led the way
You were my solace
My lifeline
My son (Myson)
But what you didn’t know
You needed me but I needed you more
[solo piano Myson]
[verse 3]
Always had a lot to say
Even when I’d say, “Don’t tell mama’s business” today
Oh, how that went in one ear and out the other
This sentiment was passed down from one generation to another,
From my mother.
I laughed and turned red as an apple inside
When he was four years old
The day he told
The dental hygienist
“My mama got fleas in her urrrpartment.” (apartment)
Embarrassed I could have hid and run
[verse 4]
Myson is all grown up now
I love to reminisce and remind him of his childhood past.
Grateful for all the priceless memories
And the extermination of those fleas
That no longer bites his little legs and knees.
No more scratching
They had been long gone
He asked how I did what
I have done
[Chorus]
The love for you, Myson
Led me to do extraordinary things
You breathed air into me
Resuscitated my tired exhausted feet
You led the way
You were my solace
My lifeline
My son (Myson)
But what you didn’t know
You needed me but I needed you more
[outro]
The love for you, Myson
Led me to do extraordinary things
You breathed air into me
I love you Myson
Forever until eternity
But what you didn’t know
You needed me but I needed you more
[speak softly]
Myson

Thoroughly enjoyed that @TammyB, lovely heartfelt song. The inclusion of the little anecdotes gave more credence to the narrative and was an inspired decision. Your son must be overjoyed to have a mum like you and vice versa.
I'm a big fan of songs written about everyday events and people in our lives and this is a wonderful example.
Well done and thank you very much for posting.
Look forward to hearing some more.

My favorite line: "You needed me but I needed you more"
This is lovely. Really gentle and loving. It makes you warm inside just hearing it.
I love all the specifics, though I would say that likely makes it less commercial, but I don't think that's an issue in this case.
I really enjoyed the pre-chorus too, I would have liked that to repeat a second time.
Keep 'em coming Tammy!

@RainyDayMan - I believe kids do not understand how much parents need them too.
Yes, this is personal for him. I appreciate the suggestion on the pre-chorus.
Thank you for listening.

You guys are absolutely killing it with these lyrics. I constantly find myself feeling unworthy! This is one reason I'm glad for AI, as controversial as it is. It gives people the outlet they need to get their vision out there.
Anyway great job on this, definitely got that modern style going on. The arrangement makes the emotion of the words come through clearly. I felt the love and the need towards the son, and how powerful it was. You're right, it's not often said how much parents need their kids, but I can inly imagine.

@bhengen - Thank you. My mom used to do the same thing to me as a little girl. Tell a tale so effortlessly. I’m grateful for her family history.
@BeatlesFan64 - Thank you and I love AI because I have always asked God why he didn’t give me a voice to sing but since AI, I’ve learned he gave me the skillset to write ✍️ and to never stop telling my stories. I appreciate the feedback. Myson loves the song.0 -
Love the sentiment, and I bet your son does too. In one way, I'm impressed with what Suno has done, since the structure of the song is sort of loose and informal in places. It's impressive that the AI can handle that. On the other hand, I don't think it does quite as good a job with this lyric as it has with some others.
I think it's a good blend of detailed incidents to make it feel real and more up-front emotional expression.

@OnlyGavin - Thank you. awww, I think my BFF(Suno) did a great job. It took over 50 generated samples to get close to what I wanted. :-)
You are right, Myson is over the moon. I appreciate your feedback and listening. It means a lot to me.

@TammyB - have you thought about using ChatGPT to help generate the prompt? since hip-hop really isn't my thing, and after 2 tries of trying to emulate eminem, which was the beat I had in my head, I finally ask ChatGPT, trying to get a freestyle rap similar to eminem, with a female vocal for the chorus. and it came back with "melancholic beat with ambient textures, laid-back hip-hop flow for male voice in verses, subtle background elements of guitar or keys, female voice for chorus, raw street vibe". which was close :)

Suno did a good job , its not really a commercial song, but that's alright
Nice job

@bhengen - No, I have never thought about using ChatGPT. If that could help lessen the generated attempts per song, then I will try it. I never knew that it's able to do it. I had to buy more credits to generate the songs.
@ElvisNash - LOL. Suno is my BFF. :-) Thank you.

Yes, there's some great lyrics here. Nice flow to it all “My mama got fleas in her urrrpartment.”...that really mad me smile. I know nothing about Suno as I don't do AI, but you've made it work very well for you on this track. It sounds very real and it's a good listen.😀

@ChrisPrice - Thank you. My son is reminded of telling my business about the fleas quite often. The funny part is the fleas had been long gone for months so I had no idea why he said it during that time. I tried to explain to the dental hygienist that the fleas were gone. My son responds, "but they are still biting me." while scratching his leg. *palm in face*
Growing up, we were to never tell mama's business. lol.
