I’m walking these streets people look like wolves
Beaches are gone my glass is not half full
It’s like someone's put out the shine in the stars
As I sit in this dingy bar
(verse 2)
How I got here I have a few clues
Now I got dark skies instead of blue
I’m a long way where waves used to crash
It’s like fate said kiss my ass
(Chorus)
I’m not in California any more
East coast and a lot of slamming doors
The sunshine hides it face
As I’m stuck in this God forsaken place
Three thousand miles away of empty space
New York City I’m flat broke
I’m not in California any more
(verse )
I should have never followed her here
Trading in Malibu for a lot of hurt
What I saw in them green lying eyes
As I sit on a dirty subway and cry
(Chorus)
I’m not in California any more
East coast and a lot of slamming doors
The sunshine hides it face
As I’m stuck in this God forsaken place
Three thousand miles away of empty space
New York City I’m flat broke
I’m not in California any more
(solo)
(bridge )
From where I stand its not looking to good
She's gone in the hustle of the crowds
(Chorus)
I’m not in California any more
East coast and a lot of slamming doors
The sunshine hides it face
As I’m stuck in this God forsaken place
Three thousand miles away of empty space
New York City I’m flat broke
I’m not in California any more
were not in California any more

perfect metaphor for not being in the place you want or wish to be in life.. perfect melody, although would be interesting to see if you can pick a different genre and how that will sound :)

I could record it in my key in about a month , that's why I went acoustic , Acid rock would not work for my voice
Thanks Bill

Wonderful chorus, really draws you in. Nice mixture of emotion and story.
Good stuff, Elvis!

I noticed the robot messes up diction on a few words
I can fix that when I record it , produce it with a madolin
This is a good example of using Suno as a tool , if the song sucked running it thru Suno it go to delete , this might work
Thanks Owen0 -
poignant reminder of the price of bad decisions, seemed a good idea at the time can turn sour overnight.
nice song and mesage Elvis

Got some cool edits for it , when I record it , be about a month
The ocean just turned to black ash , instead fate and kiss my ass
about the best melody out of 30 of them , Some were to pitchy for me to sing
Thanks Sid ...my man
Wish I could figure risings on these tracks , that's ok , fix when I record it

Now its edited
But I don't think I could sing that well even on a lowered key .......... maybe

Well done, an excellent piece of work and writing Elvis, this is good.
One thought, consider California no more instead of any more, may work better?
Think you got a good one here.

love to hear it when you record it!

The first melody might be easier to sing . Just use edited lyrics

Added steel guitar and mandolin , Now all it needs is 3rd and 5th harmony above in chorus . oooooooo's and ahhs on bridge BGV's .
How many humans are involved ? about 7 I feel like the Lone Ranger going against Suno

In that case, you need to change your hat!

From black hat to white hat ? Lol
I’ll still bet on the human race for now0 -

Nice hook. Very catchy. It reminds me a bit of Joshua Kadison without piano.

I think Joshua has a great voice , I'm much more raspier . I never heard of him , probably going back a few years , He is good
