God Had A Good Day Today

https://hearthis.at/elvis-nash-xk/good-day-demo-1-1/cja/

Them rifles were all laid down and not a shot was fired in Afghanistan

A boy at St Jude was cured and will grow up to be a man

A mother had a baby and all the parts work just fine

All things come back around in his forgiving sweet time

Chorus

God had a good day today

The World saw his amazing grace

Miracles and wonders

A little rain a little thunder

it wasn’t perfect

But you could say

God Had a Good Day Today

V2

A man put down a whiskey bottle and might not ever drink again

Some couple fell in love just like that and they said amen

A six car pile up on interstate four but no one was killed

He saved me again I’m surprised he loves me still

Chorus

Bridge

He still has uncounted blessings

Stored up there in Heaven

Chorus

Chorus

God had a good day today

The World saw his amazing grace

Miracles and wonders

A little rain a little thunder

it wasn’t perfect

But you could say

God Had a Good Day Today

  • Lovely reminder that good things continue to happen if you look for them.

The melody in the chorus is really nice, and my favorite lines - just from the sound of them - are there too:

    Miracles and wonders

A little rain a little thunder

Don't know how this will sit with Christians. There's a hint of people judging God's performance which may rankle. It's obviously not meant in any negative way, but people can be very sensitive on such topics.

Not sure about "all the parts work just fine" it feels a little mechanical. Maybe move towards "healthy"?

But nice to hear an upbeat song, and a very strong melody.

Well better than the worlds ending Owen , parts work , poor kids at St Jude , and were ranting and raving on politicians and wars.

Secular problems . We judge Gods performance , only natural . God must have good and bad days . if God is real lol , always the wonder on that

    thanks

Reminds me of "Imagine", that probably wouldn't have been written if Lennon worried too much about sensitivities.

The song is good, well put together, with a feel good element and nothing wrong with that. Anyone feels different, write a song about God being right all the time. I'll give it the same time and consideration as this one.

The lines Owen mentioned are a stand-out, I liked them too.

Overall an excellent song, good structure, well written and performed.

    Well done. I liked it.

Imagine , Yeah Lennon got in hot water on that one , I don't think he cared

Hard to say whoever knew Lennon , what he really thought . I guess some of his buddies hated some songs he made on rants , at least what I read . At studios we often discuss what so and so said , Same conclusion we don't know these people , Who knows . I highly doubt Clapton hates anyone lol

    Thanks Sid
