Believe

A song from a couple of weeks back.

Believe

A hundred miles have passed without a change of light

The snow is melting fast - the ground turns green from white

We take our turns to watch for life upon the hills

Sleeping before our dreams are gone

Lost without our wills

You close your eyes again

When you open them everything has changed

Believe

This does not have to be

Believe

Our minds are floating free

Believe

The Sun will come again

Believe

We can grow through the pain

Hold an Angels hand and see the sky at night

Float across the land until you see a blight

Then fall back down to earth and land without a sound

You know there’s going to be another day

Try and find another way.

You close your eyes again

And when you open them everything has changed

Oh

A kiss can’t make it better

Oh

Your love won’t pull us through

Oh

Don’t write the world a Dear John letter

Oh

Just show us all what we can do.

Believe

This does not have to be

Believe

Our minds are floating free

Believe

The Sun will come again

Believe

We can grow through the pain

You close your eyes again

And when you open them everything has changed

Auto tune? Just a couple of buckets worth... it's an effect I have on a vocal box I have which I think sounds cool - but not everyone agrees. 😁On more 'pop' tracks I find my - ahem - 'unique' voice is not very effective/detracts, so often utilise effects to cover my deficiencies. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the feedback.

  • Buckets eh lol , If the Beatles started today they'd be all over autotune

Hey, one your better ones, CCB! Cool vocal effect and an interesting 80s feel to it. Good work!
  • Very amusing music. I like the vocals effect and the singing. A happy song, nice to listen while I relax from the day.

    Keep rocking. Haim.

    Hola @CorkingCrackBand

This song is one of my favorites of yours, it has so much light in its overall harmony!!! I really like how you use the lauttune, I also like to play with it but I can't do it like you do!!! That effect integrates your voice so well into the arrangement, and what a great arrangement!!

Well that, I liked it a lot, very good work and beautiful lyrics

  • Hi @MoraAmaroLaLoba

I thought you achieved a brilliant (and similar) effect with the auto tune on The Woman On The Bridge. Thanks so much for listening and commenting.

Cheers @haim - I'm glad it made you feel happy. I'm not convinced the lyrics are as optimistic as they appear but that's just me. Terrible old cynic 😁

@icystorm - thanks for stopping by. It's interesting you say 80's (no doubt you're right) as whenever I get so much as a whiff of a synth my brain says "well that's dead modern that". I'm useless at identifying age and genre! 😂

  • Hmmm - the autotune? It's ok, but I think you have a cool voice. IMO, the autotune is too much.

What I like. I like the lyrics and the melodies. This has a very cool vibe. I almost feel like I'm flying when I listen.

I am not sure what the message is. I am thinking global warming/ taking care of our Earth but am not sure I'm on the right track. In any case, I like the lyrics.

    I enjoyed this very much!

  • I've had this what I call a discussion before on poetry or making perfect sense

Man as long as it makes you feel something , its doesn't really matter

  • Hi @Andrea - thanks for the compliment on my voice. The auto tune effect divides opinion where ever I go. To be honest, I like it though I sometimes misuse/overuse it but I think it suits the semi-dreamlike nature of the song. Message wise, you can take what you like 👍️ however I reckon you're not far off of The Corking Crack Band's lyric writer's intent with your suggestion. I'm not convinced he 100% "believes" his own message, though.

@ElvisNash - Amen to that on lyrics - It's about conveying something to the listener. What that something is can either be concise in the writing or vague or ethereal. Christ, instrumental music can convey those things without lyrics. Lyrics can be a method of delivering a specific message but they can also be just a shade of the music's overall colour.

  • Country music is pretty all laid out making sense

But its not the end all of all genres ,

  • I enjoyed this. A nice blend of electronic and orchestral vibes, As for the autotune debate, I think it's maybe a bit overused. How about confining it to the chorus, where it seems more at home than in the verses? Nothing wrong with your voice. You don't need autotune for correction purposes.

  • Yeah, the auto-tune debate. I actually think it works rather well here, but I'm not generally a fan of a/t. Great song though. A really strong arrangement. I really enjoyed this one. Keep em comin'😀

  • Thanks @OnlyGavin for your honest feedback. As @MoraAmaroLaLoba notes, I'm using the auto tune as an effect rather than as pitch correction - although, I may take issue with you saying me not needing it 🤣. I appreciate it's not to everyone's taste, but put simply, I like it.

Cheers @ChrisPrice - I may have bad news about the amount I use that effect... it's a lot. 😁 I'm glad you felt it was appropriate here and you enjoyed the song.
