Hi. I’m wondering which people think are the best ai apps or websites to turning lyrics into a song?

I have tried a few and when they work they are great but they all to frequently create only half a track meaning I then have to buy more credits to try again which is annoying to say the least.

  • Hi TEC,

First copy this discussion into the category General Discussion, label it something like Ai apps.

The one you are in now is just for evaluating lyrics and will only confuse everyone if left here.

Once you've done that, go to General Discussion/Ai Issues, this is a thread I started. It is a tongue in cheek assessment of the two most popular apps, Udio and Suno. Apart from a load of cynicism there are some good tips in there. I stopped doing it because although it had a ton of viewers, few contributed.

I am all for a new thread focusing on Ai music generators, so yes, set it up and we can take it from there.

I've moved this in keeping with Sid's suggestion.

One more point before kicking off this thread.

There are a number of members on this forum who are established musicians, professionally or amateur but equally passionate about their love of music. Some, quite rightly, feel threatened with the advent of Ai and it's sudden growth and acceptance. Please, if you contribute to this thread, show some empathy for their concerns. Keep comments on a friendly, technical and dispassionate level and avoid saying anything that may add fuel to the fire.

    Thanks

  • For brevity, I'll refer to Ai music generators as simply Ai, I suggest everyone do the same.

The current state of the Ai market is similar to that of the majority of other app products,

you get what you pay for, or in the case of free apps don't.

The market is currently dominated by two apps, Udio and Suno, that's who the money flowed to.

There are other apps coming on line every day but in terms of functionality they fall far short of the leaders.

Both claim to be in the Beta or Development stage, but doesn't stop either from charging full price for the product.

The two apps still have major problems from day one that still have not been resolved.

TEC comments on having to buy extra credits to get an acceptable end product, In my experience this is very common with both apps.

At this point, let me give you a strong word of advice, DO NOT BUY A SUBSCRIPTION! use the free versions until they sort the problems out.

I say this from experience since I currently have a Udio subscription and use two Suno free accounts.

I will end my first post here but before going I will leave a good Ai tip.

Suno currently gives you 50 free daily credits, technically enough for 5 songs, in reality, you'll be lucky to get one.

If you do happen to get caught short, as I often do, no need to wait for a credit renew the next day.

I got my second cousin, (Alfie Igginbottom, Ai) twice removed on my mothers side, to open an account and let me use it. When you use up your credits on your own account, create a share link, copy it somewhere. Open Alfie's account and paste the link into the browser address box and "voila", you can carry on. Theoretically, if you had a load of cousins, well.......

Anyway, I'll leave you for now, I'll return with more insights, only if I see a constructive input by others, you get out only if you put in, Sid said that!
