virus affecting the forum?

@RainyDayMan have you noticed that the forum is delaying typing and also freezing up? Some hosting-platform viruses, such as keyloggers, manifest in this way. I noticed that it started today. I'm not experiencing these symptoms on any other websites, just this one. Im was curious if you or anyone else noticed the same. Thanks!

@RainyDayMan I've had one or two similar issues recently though nothing that wouldn't clear up with a bit of perseverance. Sometimes the forum has been very slow to load up - though it's ok today. I put this down the fact that I use a vpn but it could be indicative of a problem. Possibly worth checking out. Thanks Owen.

My skills in this area are limited I'm afraid. I don't even know where to start investigating to see if there is a keylogger (or anything else!). But I'll try to find some Youtube videos on the subject. All I can say is that the site is slower than when originally (re)launched, but I don't know of any specific problems.

Have done a virus scan on the site using the built-in tool, but nothing found.

Thanks for looking into it, Owen. The issue isn't occurring right now, so hopefully it was a transient anomaly.

Hi Owen,
After the initial experience I reported with the website slowing way down back in April, it seemed to return to normal until yetserday and today. When posting, the site is freezing up again and won't allowing typing in the message window. It took over an hour to post a simple message. Have you experienced the issue of late? I verified that the slowdown is unique to this site. All other websites and processes are like greased lightning! LOL!
Anyway, if this is the biggest problem in the world, I think we'll be fine. It's just an annoyance. 😀

I haven't been experiencing that. Occasionally slow, but nothing like your experience. Thanks for checking out other sites first, that was a good idea. If anyone else is experiencing this, pls chime in. If it's just a one off episode at the moment then I'll probably just let it ride. If It's frequent, and multiple users, then I'll forward it for support to the host provider.
